BSI needs to be shut down correctly before you disconnect the battery & then booted back up correctly afterward battery replacement.

You wont have any diag equipment connected so dont worry about it.

It means a scanner etc connected to the diag port.

Thanks for the replies, I'm getting a Silver Varta at lunchtime and will fit it later - hope a new battery helps you Rich XS!
Doing voltage tests last night, I noticed the battery is original, almost 9 years isn't too bad for a OE battery.

Hya
I'm having the same starting problems now it's turned colder. Normally the car starts first time but now it takes three goes. I then get the air bag light, auto locking etc.
Funny enough the battery voltage is showing 12.5 when the car has been run and so warm.
Did anyone else check their battery's voltage
Cheers
Pete

Try checking the battery voltage BEFORE you attempt to start the car, you should find it low.

12.5 volts after its been run is low anyway.
