I have a 206 GTI 180, When i try and fill it with fuel the pump keeps clicking off after every £5 or |£6. Any idea what maybe causing this?

dont know if it related but everytime i go to shell garage near me, there pumps click off all the time with my van. other pumps have no problem.

 Wish it was!! I've only had the car a week and each time i try and put fuel in[differant garages] this happens??

My GTi does it if I stick it in too far.....never had that trouble with the Mrs though

It doesn't make any differance wether i have it pushed right in or just in!!!  It does just the same, the last 180 never did this

Try turning the nozzle to a different angle. The pumps shutting itself off because there is a backlog of fuel in the filler neck and the pump thinks the car is full.
I've found with mine, if I hold the nozzle at 5 o clock, it doesn't click off till it's full. I'm buggered if I need fuel at lunchtime though.

Just dont put the nozzle in as deep (gigedy), i have the same thing with the lexus.

Similar to macca's suggestion, rotate the nozzle 180 degrees. I've been doing it for years now - had a merc where with the nozzle in the natural position it would cut out as soon as you squeezed the trigger all the way.
Still cuts out at the top, but no annoying cut outs mid fill.
