Hello all, I've bought a cheap "T" reg 1.4 LX petrol 206 to try and save a bit on running costs compared with my 300 Tdi Discovery, BUT, it had a known fault that I was told was the double relay beneath the ECU. I've now changed that relay but the fault is still there.

Disconnect the battery, re-connect the battery, the car starts and runs beautifully. When you park up and return to the car it will not start again until you have disconnected and then re-connected the battery!

I have tried the reset procedure with the lights on, ignition on, pressing the key for 10 secs etc but that has not helped either.

I have searched through the forum to try and find an existing post, but with 58 pages it's quite easy to miss a post, so if this is already on the forum please direct me to it.

Thank you,

Jules

first need to make sure all major earthing point are good.

then check if there is any spark by removing the plug and then crank the engine.

if there is no spark then my bet is immobiliser fault.

did your car runs fine once started(any misfire?)

Sweet! Will check that out in the morning.

Yes runs really well when started.

If it is an immobiliser fault, is that part of the ECU function? Just trying to get an idea of how much I'll need to spend.
