Im guessing , comm2000 , loom, sensor, mirror cowling and then it would need turning on in BSI

I wonder if the wiper indicator stalk has a hidden button inside (like the trip computer one on the wiper stalk).
loom - where would this go to? if i recall there's a plug in the roof lining next to courtesy light.
has anyone actually done it?

You also need the rain / light sensor bonding on to the windscreen, best idea is get the standard screen replaced with the sensor spec screen so the brackets are already fixed on.

damn, my mrs just got a new windscreen put on a few months back as well. sure there's something i could use to make it stick.
just seeing if it's feasible to be honest, decided not to sell the car (for now) so i need something new on it to stave away the boredom!
think i'll see if there's a hidden button in the stalk first, otherwise it's a no-goer.

You also need to check if the loom with connector plug for the sensor is there.

on the stalk you just put it on auto, the then you get the message "AUTOMATIC WIPERS ACTIVE" and same for the lights but to activate them just push the button in for 3 seconds
TBH they are a pain in the butt anyway

there is an empty plug up there, think it's green/yellow, but been a couple of years since i last had the light out.

skard hasnt got auto wipers or auto lights fitted YET 
They work perfectly fine with the later BSI software versions.

i find auto lights tremendous, ive had my golf over three years and the only time i touch the light switch is when i need the fogs on.
hence, when i get in the 206 the inconvenience of having to turn them on(!) resulting in this thread.

Could do with ours updating maybe, the slight change in light or going under a tree will turn them on.

Rain sensor wiring, auto lights, and standard alarm wiring are all part of the same loom and go to the BSI
They go along the headlining, down the a-pillar and connect to a multiplug at the drivers footwell. From there they disperse in different directions to go to their relevant ontrols and then meet back up at the BSI.
