With the current financial climate and horrendous fuel, tax and insurance costs I was wondering 2 things.
Who uses their 206gti as a daily drive
And
How many miles do you stick on her every year.
I'll be using mine every day during winter and early spring, and probably about 6k a year as in the warmer months I use my 76mpg vespa.

many of my friends have vespa px,s cannot beat them
our old gti used to be our daily driver but doing 15k a year worked out cheaper getting a diesel
the savings was huge!

I must just be incredibly sad, but, before i buy a car i work out the cost per year. i include everything from fuel to tyres, servicing and likely depreciation, insurance, tax, likely repairs etc etc.
I would hate to be in a position where i didnt like my car anymore just for financial reasons. Hence why ive got my audi and not the porsche i wanted.
As for the gti, it gets used when the weather is bad and for trackdays. usually around 1000 miles a year (+trackdays), and it costs a lot less to run than my audi.
Free insurance, 35mpg, cheap tyres, cheap servicing.
To keep it road legal cost me about 300 quid a year (tax, mot). Its only when you add in the trackdays and consumables that it gets expensive. Even then, i think ive spent about 2000 this year all in. less than some of you guys insurance premiums!

| This 206 IS going on a trackday despite it's every effort to stay at home in the garage! | |
