Would anyone have an idea as to what the heck could be wrong with my 206 1.4lx petrol 2003 model. In last 5 days when ever i start the engine i hear a loud single beep, nothing is displayed, none of the warning lights come on, and then the engine starts. the car drives fine, and its starts without the beep after that, unless i leave it for say @4 hrs.
I am going to get it serviced, even though the indicator says another 5,000 miles before service. Sad

Could it be the ice warning?

Anything displayed on the clock/radio display?

agree also about the ice warning.

if i recall correctly, if you have the single line display then the temperature will flash, the larger display actually informs you of ICE.

No displays, and its not an ICE warning as i have had car for 2 yrs and it has never done that, even when i have travelled up to mids and it has been icey, it has always started 1st time.
Strangely enough didnt beep this morn, will keep check on that though.
All this started since we have had alot of damp weather here in devon, was wondering if anything to do with that? Have used that damp start and sprayed it over the cables and electrical points.

My 206 randomly beeps, no matter what the weather, but the last few days I have noticed that it beeps when the car is first switched on and scrolls 'ICE ALERT' on the display where the date usually is, and if the temperature drops below 4°C at any time it beeps again and the temperature stays on, instead of the time, and flashes (which is annoying as I'd rather see the time over the temperature!).

Same here. I have heard a random beep sometimes though last year. I noticed at the time the engine light was lagging on just a little bit longer than the others.

I suggest taking a careful look at the EML light and making sure its not hanging on a little bit longer.

If its multiplexed then change to the larger 3 line display Wink

It annoyed the hell out of me when I first got my 206, its a good excuse for upgrading the display Cool

How much does it cost to upgrade the display roughly?
