can you install a new manifold on a gti 138 without taking out the engine?

ring a few garages for some quotes, cant see it taking a fully qualified mechanic longer than 2 or 3 hours labour time?

I had to lower the engine gearbox side, remove all thermostat housing pipes and well generally anything in the way
