the temperature stays on, instead of the time, and flashes (which is annoying as I'd rather see the time over the temperature!).

If its multiplexed then change to the larger 3 line display Wink

It annoyed the hell out of me when I first got my 206, its a good excuse for upgrading the display Cool

How much does it cost to upgrade the display roughly?

As much as you win one of Ebay / get one of here / from a scrapyard for Wink

3 bulb / PPT 40 connector type large display is what your after for a multiplexed 206.

Display is 99% of the time plug & play.

Also opens you up to retro fit trip computer as well if you change the com 2000 / fit the washer stalk end with the button.

Well the latest now is that it has started to stall when driving. Coming to the lights i depressed the clutch, to change gears and engine just stalled, lucky i was moving to start the damn thing again. Peugeot are crap, should have gone for honda. Also that beeping is a pain, its not the ice warning, i managed to video it, and when it beeps its like all the dials on the dash go into reverse, for around 3 secs then the petrol gauge moves to its place along with the rev counter. Any idea's?

Its an electrical fault.

Check the battery is in good condition & the connections are clean / tight.

Had call from garage, did a full diagnostic check and it seems one of the cells in the battery are failing, so the battery is being replaced, service done too so i hope it will give me another year at least before i get rid of it. Thanks for all the advice from everyone.

What sort of info does the newer display give you over the old one, or is it just better designed so everything can exist together at the same time?

How can I check if my car is multiplexed or not?

Actually, scrub my previous post, I checked and my 206 is multiplexed and have purchased one of those 3 line multi-function displays linked to earlier. It probably won't come until after Christmas but I can fit it in my spare time whilst I'm off work. It'll look a bit better and maybe I'll get some new features with it or something! Smile

OK, I've got the new PPT40 unit, what do I have to do to fit it? Do I need to disconnect the battery and all or can I just work away at it whenever I get into the car? Is there a guide for fitting them at all, with pictures if possible?

The 3 line ones are a waste of time if your BSI isn't capable of trip data and you have the wrong COM

OK, I just went for it and changed it over and am more than pleased to report that it works perfectly. It gives me the time, date and temperature on the display, and I have removed the cap on the wiper stalk and there is a button inside for me to change the display so I can see how many approx. miles I can do before I need to refuel, my average MPG and all that jazz.

I have also found out what that single beep is for when I start the car, the screen flashes up ABS FAULT when the beep sounds, so at least I now know what I have to get checked! Really glad I bought this new display now!

The yellow ABS warning light on the instrument cluster should be on if there is a fault with the ABS system.

There is no light on the dash, it's only on the new MFD. I wonder what the beep is if it isn't the ABS. Is there any way of getting it stopped, maybe a system reset or something?
