Hi guys, my brake pedal on my gti has been spongy.
I have just changed the brake fluid and bled the brakes and they still feel abit spongy. All calipers are ok and pipes. Do the gti's have much pedal travel?

Checked the condition of the pads? You'll get more travel if they are worn.

I agree, both of mine are a bit spongy, but the brakes still work. You get used to it after a while.

If they are all abit spongy then the braking system isnt that good. Would fitting 180 or gti6 front brakes make much difference?

They all have a soft pedal regardless of what calipers are fitted.

Drove a 54 plate Mondeo earlier in the week, always feels odd getting back in to the 206 afterwards at how heavy the clutch & steering is & how spongy the brake pedal feels.

I had 8 pot k sport brakes with 385mm discs on my subaru which had amazing stopping power. Must just be me not used to a poor brake system. Although I had 2 gti6's and the brakes on both of them were ok compared to my 206 gti. So there isnt a problem with the brakes its normal for there to be some travel in the pedal then.

306 the master cylinder is connected directly to the brake pedal on right hand drive.
Right hand drive 206 the brake pedal isnt, there is the transfer rod linkage behind the dash to as the master cylinder is on the other side of the engine bay.
