I have a peugeot 206 1400 diesel and it has developed a rumbling noise at the front that gets faster as the car speeds up but the strange thing is that when i turn left it disapears and comes back as i straighten up.Anyone got any ideas please?

I did suspect a wheel bearing but dont you get movement in the wheel if you jack the car up and rock the wheel? i have tried this but no movement.

100 percent wheel bearing, if it goes away when you turn left its your left bearing. If it goes away when you turn right, its your right bearing

If you not mechanically minded or a fan of being sat outside for a few hours in the cold, take it to a garage.

Do the work yourself, some smaller garages will press bearings in for a couple of drinks if you ask nicely enough.
