Sounds like injectors to me also, my recent problems were down to 2 injectors shorting out.
As previously advised, get it to a garage that has the peugeot code checker, they can eliminate certain things, and generally will have spare bits around to check on your engine, hence you dont have to buy parts.

I had a similar experience with a 1.1 TU engine, turned out to be coilpack. Does it smell of unburnt fuel at the exhaust?

Well if it smells of unburnt fuel i'd be inclined to say at least one of your spark plugs isn't firing so its running on at most 3 cylinders. Which would explain the lack of power/rumbling etc. Either the spark plug is knackered or the coilpack is?

Right lads.... Had it on a Diagnostic machine today. Garage basically came back to say it wasn't coil pack. (They were right) They told me it was the ECU that needed replacing. (Expensive job)
(Not being able to sleep until i knew i had tried another coil pack) I bought one from a car dismantler down the road (great reputation, so trust them dearly) i found that it definitely wasnt the coil pack.
In desperation and hoping, praying and begging it's not the ECU, i've bought a set of plugs to try tomorrow.
Fingers crossed. The end could be near!

They said a new ECU, i'd be looking at about a grand? Said they dont do it, but gave me a name of a garage in Ivybridge that would do fittings and repairs...
Hopefully, some new spark plugs will resolve all of my worries.
Hopefully.

Ive had the exact same problem and was advised new ECU for similar price, Im guessing second hand from a 1.4 8V would do the trick. Is it just ECU, BSI, and key that are needed for an ECU swap?

Sweet as a nut, any guides on how to do it? Or is it a straight plug and play thing regarding ECU and BSI then a couple screws for the other stuff?
