Hello all,
Got a (hopefully quick) problem with the 206.
It really crashes over bumps, even the smallest ones will make one heck of a noise. Suspension looks at the proper height, and if I "bounce" the car it depresses once and returns to level (checking shocks).
Anyone else have any thoughts? I heard a metallic snap about 2 months ago, dismissed it as a loose stone hitting something.
I'm also wrestling with the steering a lot when driving over bumpy surfaces, need to check my ARB links but are these likely to be suspect, or should I start somewhere else?

More than likely to either be drop links or top mounts.

Thanks for replies guys.
Its all completely standard, no mods at all. Drop links were £21 a pair from Euros thanks to their winter offer 
Will replace those and see what its like after.
Will have a look at top mounts and see what they're like.
Heard a lot of stories about the wishbone bushes wearing quickly on these cars, a likely candidate there.
Just a follow up, it doesn't seem to be sided, if either wheel hits a bump it does sound incredibly loud, and I feel it through the car sometimes! (I also feel EVERYTHING on the road through the accelerator pedal)

Yeah sounds feasible - is there anything special that needs doing when removing or is it a pretty standard process?

Check the wishbone bushes first when mine were gone it made the car harder to control and unpredictable. The bottom ball joints are the worst see if there is any play give them a hard pull up and down. You will need a spring compressor if its the shocks.

think i'll jack the thing up and give everything it could be a tug/inspection.
You know, its cheaper to get a new wishbone with bushes and to buy the bushes separately? Go figure.

Don't buy cheap ones or anything other than genuine ones for that matter. I bought a set off ebay and a set from a respectable wholesaler and both only lasted 6 months. Get the Peugeot ones and they will be good for 2-3 years. The GTI ones even longer as they have steel bushes. They are about £120 or something from Peugeot but I will let you do the math on the cheap ones.

Which makes it cheaper than the cheap one,cuz one gen. set live longer,and much better,but the cheap ones needs to be replaced every year which makes it expensive.

Cheers guys, saw a set for £45 a pair on a reputable auction website, which is remarkably cheap, but I wonder how ling they'll actually last. Peugeot price is £68 per side - may be 3x the cost but if they last 5x as long, its worth it.
Got my ARBDLs still to to so i'll do them all in one go. (May do it one at a time so I can identify which part actually gave me grief)
