Hi - I have a 206 1.1 2002 and the engine is running on 2 or 3 cylinders. I have put it into the garage and they said one of the fuel injectors was showing up on the computer as faulty therefore I asked them to change the injector. I picked the car up and it drove fine for 1 mile then the same problem has come back! I returned the car to the garage and they have told me that a different injector has now failed - they think there may be dirt or water in the fuel tank.
This seems a little strange to me - has anyone else experienced a similar problem? Can anyone provide advice on what could be wrong?
Thanks in advance
Sue

Try filling the fuel tank and add a bottle of injector cleaner. The fuel filter should remove any dirt thats in the fuel. If there is any water in the fuel it'll be at the bottom of the tank as its more dense than petrol and the only way it could get out is if you've been driving around on fumes.

Did the garage do a code reader test or just fiddle? The injectors are on 2 seperate circuits, i think 1 and 4 is on one, and 2 and 3 the other.

I recently had 2 injectors go at the same time so it is possible one can affect the other.

Thanks for all your advice folks! Children being children my daughter has been running on fumes frequently!
The first diagnostic check made by the AA said injector 3 was the trouble now it is saying injector 1
I will ask my husband to check the type of ciol pack tomorrow

If water has got into the injectors through running on fumes will they recover or will we need to replace them?

Thanks again
Sue

I know it may sound stupid but which way are you counting 1,2,3,4

I had the same prolem, the code reader said number 3 was down, so from left to right I changed it.
But the missfire did not go away
Then I put the removed injector in numer three, counting right to left

Missfire gone............

I Guess that uis French humour! this caught the AA man out - he counted from the left looking for number 3, yet when he took the spark plugs out it was the cylinder next to it that was not working! hey ho all for an interesting life!
