Hey guys,

last year when i got my MOT i got an advisory for play in the passenger side of the rear axle.

i dont have the test sheet to hand but iirc it was around the stub axle area ??

now my MOT is due again in a few months and ive been taking alook at the passenger side of the rear axle.

The problems i have seen are as follows:

1) Passenger side rear wheel leaning/has camber causing the inside of the tyre to wear rapidly.

2) Passenger side rear shock is rubbing against what looks like a circular piece of metal, maybe holds a rear bush?

now obviously the main thing to see is the rear wheel leaning and with it causing the tyre to wear ALOT on the inside i need this sorted!!

i recently had a new hub/bearing put on this part of the axle roughly 2 months ago as id crossed the bolt holes (fail!) and the guy fitting it mentioned i had some play and said he had replaced an axle on a 206 recently, punting for work...

now i dont want it to now fail the MOT because of this so im here to see if this can be fixed...

im "hoping" that i wont have to buy a new axle, as with it being on just one side i was thinking maybe it can have some bearings replaced??

any advice would be good here guys.

i can get some pictures for you lot if need be, just let me know what you want pics of Smile

Thanks,

Karl.

Tyre wear on the inside means its too late correct me if I am wrong? Axles are not really that expensive anyway.

If you fixed it last year when it was an advisory you might have been able to save your axle.

I'd start looking for a replacement axle.

where you looking to get a brand new one from?
"if someone has put it together then I will take it apart" it might never work again but at least I will have an understanding of how it worked and might be able to buy another

The voices in my head may not be real, but they have some good ideas!!

Sorry i ment a fully refurbed axle from IM axles (on saxperience.com)

can get one for £390, which will be better money spent than buying a second hand one from somebody who is breaking a 206.
