Hi all,

Car is a Peugeot 206cc 1.6 16v. Between 30 to 55 the gear stick vibrates like hell, can also feel it through the floor pan and it rattles CDs etc in the door pockets etc. Can't feel it through the steering wheel and it's not wheel balance issues as its happened on two sets of wheels. It's had a new gear box mount and drive shaft but is still just as bad. The remaining old drive shaft is fine, as is the bearing on the long shaft. Engine wise there isnt much play in it, nothing I'd call excessive, but looking at the lower engine mount it has got loads of little cracks in the rubber, and one fairly large one.

the gear knob kind of shakes front to back.

Thanks

si

Exhaust catching on a gear linkage or engine mount?
This 206 IS going on a trackday despite it's every effort to stay at home in the garage!

Exhausts not catching anything. I'd have thought if it was it would only resonate rather than cause a shake. Plus gear linkages and mounts aren't near the exhaust.

That was my thought about the mount, it's just the fact the engine "seems" solid when trying to rock it.
