hi,

can some one tell me the best way to fill and bleed the coolant in my 1.4lx.

The only bleed nipple i can see is on the heater blower hose. Are there anymore i need to know about?

there is 3...


one next to the thermostat and one near to the bulk head and one is top of the radiator

Seabook, just to confirm as i will need to bleed our 1.4 when i change the stat, the one atop the rad is a round metal one with a hex cutout yes? The one next to the stat looks like it needs an allen key and may be made of metal yes? The one on the heater hose near bulk head is a plastic screw out jobbie, do these tend to snap off? In what order are thay bled? Confused

I never bothered when I done mine last month.

Changed stat, top up cooling system, run engine till cooling fan cuts in then out again, switch it off, let engine fully cool & then top it up to the correct level.

Never had to use the bleed screws yet on a 206 & ive never had a problem with air being trapped in the system.

yes you are right

no idea about the order, i start from the radiator, themostat and then bulk head.

it took me less than 30 sec to bleed them all so why not? never snap on mine as they should be tighten by hand

Cheers guys, Mr BSI, i only mention bleeding because the heater in my wifes 1.4 lx is only luke warm, so, i'm gonna change the stat and bleed the system, poor Woman has been frozen these last couple days. Wink

They normally bleed themselves, very rare you need to use the bleed screws.
