Hi, guys

Basically I've got a 2000 206 gti 138bhp and the o/s/r trailing arm bearing is shot and gone way past new bearings, I've been looking on eBay and researching stuff on the net. Basically I've been told I need too make sure I buy the right year axle or my brake lines and abs sensors won't connect up.

Also would a gti 180bhp rear axle fit my car even though it carries the 2 support bars.?

Cheers Ben.

You need a disc axle that's from a preplex car (98-01) and it will be fine. A 180 one will fit but the sensors won't be correct and the exhaust will need modifying, not worth it really.

Not unless you want to mess around with the abs system, if it's 98-01 then it will be plug and play just make sure it's pre plexxed

It's difficult to tell just by the axle, easier just asking the seller what electrical system the car was off, if they are any half decent breaker they should know Smile

Ive got a pre-plex gti 138 with movement in the trailing arm.
I can get a mint non abs drum axle for free off a damaged car.

Now if i convert it to a disc axle using parts off my gti axle, does it matter that its non abs?
ill be using the gti torsion bars and arb aswell.

cheers john

I fitted a 180 axle to my 138, I just had to remove the lateral arms and swap the abs sensors and the rear hubs from the old axle to the new.
Easy peasy, about 2 hours to do the full axle change.
