Hi all

Ok, first question... having gone through the owners manual several times I still cannot find out what the button on the end of the light stalk on the left hand side does? It has the word 'Auto' stencilled on there.

Is this something to do with the auto lights or am I barking up the wrong tree?

It turns the automatic headlight function ON or OFF.

If the auto headlights are working correctly leave the button alone!

Start the engine, get out the car & hold your hand over the sensor on the windscreen.

OR

Take the car somewhere dark like an underground carpark / garage.

Earlier BSI software versions dont, they will only flag it up when you use the button to change the status of the autolights.

you can turn it off, by putting the key in ignition (possition 1, just before you pull it out), and press the end button, you will get a ping after about 4 secs, and the mfd will tell you auto headlights deactivated (unless its the older one then i have no idea)

lol, its fricken annoying when you go under a bridge, and they come on, or at 3pm and its just starting to lose light they come on, if it could be set to a varying level, like sides then dipped, it would be ok. unless it does that and mine is ferked, i have never seen it auto sidelight though.

Might be to stop the twenty people a week saying "ere mate you've left your lights on" and then explaining they are auto lights. I only use mine during the winter as its dark on way to work and then back home again. During the summer I tend to leave them off.

Follow me home function now needs you to flash the headlights after key is turned off to get the dipped beam to stay on for the 30 seconds.
