not sure if you know this but if the alarm keeps going off , you have to push the button in the middle of the car like between the seats , hold for a few seconds then a red light will appear in the middle of dash-where indicator button is. Then lock car . Hope this helps with that :s

Check the battery like you did on your golf, if that isnt the problem and the idle is a bit ruff to try cleaning the idle control valve, if the the XSi has one.
Second one the alarm keeps going off
Again could be battery, or more than likely the internal senors are knackerd. There should be a little button by the hand brake to turn them off. Once the ignition if off press and hold the button until the hazard light stays one then, get out and lock the car as normal. If the alarm doesnt go off you know what the problem is.
Third the rear offside wheel is rubbing against the inside of the wheel arch |
Get it put on a ramp, or take the wheel off to see whats rubbing, and check for damage. If you cant see anything serious get it put on an alignment machine.

First. Battery
Second. Battery
Third. Negative camber, rebuild time or a reconditioned axle job.

If a standard rear wheel is rubbing on the arch there is f*** all use in paying for an alignment check! somethings bent or the bearings have collapsed.

Other problem is center console doesn't light up when the lights are turned on , I'm thinking loose wire or does that system have it's own fuse?
