hello guys and girls, been a good few years since ive been on here but im in need of some advice.
right; last night i went out to start my car and was greeted by a horrible growling sound when i turned the key, obviously totaly different from the wuring sound you get when your battery is flat.
so i left it overnight thinking it may have something to do with the cold or it was something with the battery, i came out this morning to find that she started on the third key turn with no warning lights.
so i took her out this afternoon as i was acelerating to high revs the car cuts out when i push the clutch in and has to be bumped by pulling the clutch out , at the same time it cuts out its making the same horrible noise of when i tried to stat her the previous night.
any help would be apreciated as i realy need my car atm
Details:
2001 pug 206 phase 1
1.9 d hdi (turbo one)
had a full service about 3 weeks ago with no major problems
passed the mot 2 months ago with only a few minors
*Rev counter has not worked for over a year, im thinking this has something to do with the alternator too ?*
cheers
Gedney

How baltic was it? Possibly your fuel is starting to "gel" if its that cold and getting blocked in the fuel filter. Diesel starts to gel at -9 C.
