if you wanted some good masked lights for show try getting a cheap set of chav halos with clear lenses and put the clear ones on the masked originals that looks good if your spraying in the lights is upto a good standard |
ive got some angel eyes under my bed been there for about 2 years since i took them off ha
and the loom is coming out once the car is running, all sensors not being used the appropriate wiring will be removed and the loom will be wrapped up neatly

only problem with that, the oem lights are in two pieces (the headlight and indicator are separate), on the angels the headlight and indicators are a single unit :S

well i picked some 106 leathers yesterday were a bit dirty, but good condition for the price of only £60!
bought some products today
clean and protected them and then fitted them, pics are a bit s**t makes everything look green and a dirty will get some better pics tomorrow
another crap little update finally fitted my FDM sticker! and removed the saxway one
Re-polished the old cam covers not perfect but much better
Also forgot to mention I stripped the loom of unused sensors and wires, the bodies don't use the map, rp and icv sensors also removed a few other wires
well what can i say, 7 months off the road shes finally started up!!! after a quick call to matt at pug1off and my fave pug1off machanic tom5190 shes running!

Looks nice, I was with you right up to the square rear number ate, just looks too big IMO. Maybe if you relocated it down to where the towing eye used to be.
Other than that, I like

well my back box blew up on me the other morning :S the noise was sooo loud! and the black smoke pouring out was unbelievable
colour difference in the shocks! lol!
Just purchased a powerflex bottom engine mount and a spoox red top rad hose, however i might be buying a full set of engine mounts, wishbones with spoox mounts and powerlex bushes and some 106 mirrors with c/f caps if all goes well which means ill have to sell the powerflex lower engine mount straight on
jsut got back from the west london collective meet was awesome, so many good cars there! i picked up this beauty after the meet from liam-westcoast a 3" inward rolled piper imo the best back box everrrr, its got 106 hangers on it so it will sit nicely under my bumper fingers crossed will update tomorrow lunch time with it fitted hopefully
obviosuly will be cleaned and polished before it goes on
ooo post man has arrived to give me my over priced hose look at me 2 updates in one day, if your lucky there might be another update later with it fitted if i can be bothereed to get some shiney new clips for it, agaisnt the law to use my old rusty clips with a shiney new hose ha
fitted the rad hose with some new clips 3rd update today!
new parcel
just finished fitting my gti6 brakes, and replaced all the fluid with dot 5.1, the discs are second hand but very low mileage maxtorq grp n items and i got some new QH oem spec pads for them, bled them all up and then realised the schmidts didnt fit over the brakes! so for a temp measure to get the car on the road the siroccos off the gold vtr have been fitted and the schmidts are on the vtr, to be fair they look quite good imo ha
Schmidts have now been sold, Llardy has given me a deposit, not bad i sold them without putting them up for sale within 24 hours of me taking them off, without a 100% intention of selling them
BUT the car is booked in to pug1off a week tomorrow (thursday 3rd may) so the sale of these wheel should pay pug1off for the work, its been booked in for the following work:
-sort out the running issues
-fit exhaust properly (long storey, s**t ashley manifold)
-time cams in properly (just on std timing marks atm)
-adjust tracking
-and finally get it mot'd
in the meantime ive got the following to do
-re-bleed gti6 brakes again get them tip top
-fit my new goodies
engine mounts
wishbones (need mew ball joints)
maybe the 106 c/f mirrors
-refit my spoox hose as tom5190 borrowed in earlier and bleed coolant
-reseal cam covers (oil leak)
so getting quite a bit of work done to it over the next couple weeks, should be at pug1off for a week so ill have time to fit my bmw engine in to the 320 and uni should be over this time next week so ill have time to tinker with the cars
pic of said goodies
thought id fit my engine mounts today
old g/box one off
new one on
lower mount off
on fire
fitted
took the upper mount off
realised the mount bolt doesnt fit through the old 'bridge', has to be drilled out and didnt have a big enough drill bit to hand so just refitted the old mount
had a long eventful day today!
plan was to pick car up from pug1off, get it mapped, bring back to pug1off for more repairs, then book it in for mot and then do mot repairs and was execpting to get the car back in a week or so.
However..
I got to pug1off and they had done ALL the repairs i asked them to do ahead of schedule, and just as i was driivng out of the garage i was told i was booked in for mot at half 4 today so we shot off to Noprthampton Motorsport waited around or about an hour as the car before us was taking longer than expected, didnt execpt to get back in time for mot, after 2.5 hours mapping the car it was ready and i shot off back to brackley and dropped the car at the mot station 35 min late, they mot'd it, passed first time! drove round the corner to pug1off and then we fitted a sticker set and finished about 8pm been a very long day but i cant believe the car is back today!
Runs so nice now
here are pics and videos from today as well as my printouts, i got 150bhp before the remap and 155 after, with a MUCH better air/fuel ratio, i dont need to take out a small mortage to drive the car now!
steve and matt timing my cams in as i turned up this morning
jacked up at NMS having the wideband fitted
being dyno'd
car back at pug1off having the stickers fitted after mot
back at home a week early fully road legal (sort of) lol
exhasut fitted properly
video
Saxo vts, Jenvey throttle bodies, catcam 708's dyno'd at 155bhp - YouTube
graphs
my max bhp graph
my WHP graph
before and after remap power figures, also shows the air/fuel ratio and how its been improved
tom5190 also had his 16v saxo on catcam 743's dyno'd at NMS so we able to lay my graphs over his
our max bhp
our max WHP
So in summary today the car has had the following done:
-running isues sorted out
-tracked
-cams timed in
-oil leak around cam covers fixed
-exhaust fitted properly
-snapped bolt in rear beam taken out and replaced
-mapped and dyno'd
-mot'd
-stickers fitted
fewww, been a long, tiring, exciting and expensive day!
*UPDATE*
Just had the car weighed in at 880kg soooo 176bhp per tonne
just fitted my vibratechnics engine mount, finally bought some drill bits and drilled the mount to accept the M12 bolt
rain stopped so i went out again and fitted my lower arms with the powerflex bushes and vibratechnics/spoox mounts on, also fitted my cambelt cover now the cams are timed in
old arms off
new arms
new arms fitted
catch tank has just turned up gonna go and fit it now hose looks gay as, but it'll do for the time being
all fitted, cleaned the bay up got rid of most of the oil, amazing what brake cleaner can do, the blue oil catch tank pipe looks gash will be replaced with a red silicone one, and i really should have bought a smaller tank as it would have given me more options of where to put it, the ecu braket was the only place where there was enough room for it (just).
went for a photo shoot the other day with tom5190 and redexstyle
also got a few the other day when we went to Eynsham hall

Nicest Saxo i've seen in my entire life and glad all the mods done on a VTR model and not some low end engine i've seen everyday.
The sirocco alloys definitely looks nice on your car.

good project mate, those engine mods done on a vts engine? only ask because if i read it right and i apologise if i'm wrong but when you had it dyno'd it was 155bhp? I had a mk2 vts before my 206 which was dyno'd at 150bhp with only pulleys, camshafts, superchip

yes mate on a vts engine, different rolling roads are horribile for comparing cars my housemate has a cammed 16v which has been dyno'd from 141 to 151bhp, the expected result for my engine spec was 155bhp and that was what i achieved, at the end of the day throttle bodies on fast road cams wont produce much much peak power than just a cammed vts, the next step would be forged pistons/rods and widler cams which would see me geting 190+ which is about another £2000 worth of parts which might be happening in the future but i dont know if i want to spend much more money on the car
the highest bhp ive seen for bodies with a standard bottom end is 167bhp from atpower bodies with newman ph3 cams
my pistons rings are also on their way out, all my own fault asi drove the car too much before it was mapped and it was stupidly over fuelling so all the petrol in the bores will have damaged my rings, we can tell this because my catch tank fills up rather quickly lol which points to the oil pressurising, i should be picking a new bottom end up at FCS at the weekend and il having it all cleaned up and the rings/bearing/bolts replaced and then we'll spend a day swapping them over which gives me a good opportuinity to give the bay a good clean
