Hi, i got stuff to do Pre MOT :
* Rear brake pads & discs - Can DIY or need special tools ?
* Front Drop Links - DIY or special tools needed ?
* Front lower ball joint arm replacing - What is this part ? Easy to DIY replace ?
Anyone ideas specially the lower arm is that something i can get off ebay ?

Diy job, Look a how to up on youtube if unsure.

Local motor shop will be cheap enough, Might have to grind the old one's off.
* Front lower ball joint arm replacing - What is this part ? Easy to DIY replace ?

this will give you an idea regarding lower ball joint ( wishbone ) and droplinks.
i had mine done at the garage , both wishbones and droplinks fitted and tracking ( will need to be tracked) cost £220.
the job looks easy enough , but it can be a pita to get the old balljoint out, if doing it yourself.

i see a how to guide for front brakes but aint rear brakes need winding back ? and i dont see any guides to replace drop links or lower arms ive got Haynes but its a bit patchy about rear discs and Drop links ...

drop link is easy.... just remove 2 nuts to remove the old one and then bolt the new one on...

there's no might about it. Unless uour using a 2 or 4 post ramp then allways use axel stands.

So is there anyone here that has changed rear discs & pads or replaced a front arm ? And drop links are a pain to get off so i will have to look when its not raining (sigh)

Rear discs and pads are easy. I've got quite a comprehensive piston wind back kit which won't work on the rear calipers. Nothing better than a large screwdriver across the slots in the piston then rotate the piston.

Brake pads replacement for the front and the back are very easy, drop links replacement are even more simple provided the nuts not seized. Make sure u check the condition of your disc brake (clean it properly/or replce if in bad condition) and get axle stands as it helps a lot and it is safer to work with it.
I suggest u let the garage to change the wishbone as it is a pain in the a**e job unless your very good in diy and there's a change that your driveshaft will pop up and u will have gear oil everywhere. Make sure u get a proper oem quality wishbone as the cheaper one from ebay won't last long consider the amount of labour u need to put it into it.

No need for a g clamp either! Best not push the pistons back in on an ABS equipped car withouth opening the bleed screw first. Use a proper brake spanner though.

1st attempt at drop links and i got the nuts loose but the thread moves with it, looks like a T25 holds he thread in but tried that and the torx teeth snapped under pressure. I was thinking of molegripping the other side side formt the nut ? There is like plastic backing on the other end can i just bash this off ?
