My girlfriend has got a 02 1.4hdi 206 there is a loud
Tappety/ticking sound coming from the engine, it sounds
Like its from the top but near the belts, also recently
We was accelerating got to about 60 and it felt like we just hit a
Wall then a second later the car was normal. It has happened a few times
Not the same speed though. Today it did that the the car cut out, struggled to start then then when it did it cut out when we set of. Started again and now it's running fine again.
It has been taken to loads of garages before about the ticking/tappety engine but they said it was fine so we at loss.
Thanks for any help.

Diesels alway sound tappy and rattley, so I shouldn't worry about it. As for the cutting out could be a blocked fuel filter or a dodgey injector.

Yeah I was not to worried about the tappety although I no its not ment to sound as bad
As it does as my mums one is a lot quieter.
The problem that I'm more worried about is the accelerating and hitting a wall then it's
Fine a couple of seconds later, any chance it sounds like the turbo on way out or no chance it could
Be this, car has done about 95000miles.

have seen quite a lot of 1.4HDi blown their turbo at that age.
but i don't think it cause the cut out.
should check the earthing and timing belt i guess

Injector seal failing can sound very similar to tappets. Is it linked to failing to start etc. = I am not sure but it could be an intermittent injector problem.
