Has anyone got a 206 log book that they can scan and me a particular page of?

I need a copy of the page that details when the timing belt should be changed. It's a long story involving a snapped timing belt that my Peugeot garage didn't change for me at the right time when the car was serviced. I'm trying to get some compensation for the engine damage but I need a copy of this particular page of the log book to send the company handling the issue. I've sold the car so I don't have the log book any more!

I think you mean 'owners hand book'.
The 'log book' is the V5 document.

Peugeot main dealer & nearly all other garages wont change a timing belt unless YOU ask them to, its down to YOU to request the timing belt to be changed at the correct interval.

Garage I use puts the recommended time / mileage interval ( from Autodata ) on the printed service sheet & invoice BUT if the customer refuses to have the belt changed when recommended its there problem if / when it then fails.

There was a section in my log book where it stated when the timing belt needs changing, it also stated that Peugeot would let the owner know when the change is due.

If anyone has a copy of this page I'f be most grateful as Motorcodes are kindly looking into the dispute for me, we just need copy of the log book page.

Thanks.

Out of curiosity had a look and this is all I could come up with.

In the manual

And in the warrenty and maintenance record.

Don't know if any of these are what your looking for but a quick scan though and that is the only place the timing belt is mentioned that I saw. However unless your warrenty covered the time when the belt needing replacing I can't see how they would be liable. I would say its your responsibility to remember things like that even though the amount of people who don't amazes me.

Has anyone mentioned its not the log book you need?
More like the service or owners hand book, or even a Haynes manual.

If the car has always been to the dealer for servicing then as the experts I'd say it's for them to maintain it as recommended by the manufacturer. You rely on their expertise and knowledge - after all that's what you are paying for.

Thanks Suicidalsoldi3R... that's the very page I needed.

And thanks Lee and Edward as well - lets hope I get some sort of compensation as like you say Edward I was paying Peugeot for their advice.

Many thanks
