Yesterday I pulled the rear right seat in order to clean and align my seat belt buckles, I noticed a really strange cap-like thingy and when I pulled it it opened and I could see through it, right down to the road.. the only reason I could think up for this hole being there is to drain the car if water got in to it, but have you guys seen this thing? do you know what's it there for?

Most cars have that under the rear seats-some have this in the front footwells too.... It is exactly the reason you speculated-drain the interior if it ever floods.
