Well the other day on the way to Leeds I noticed my car car loosing power/missfiring, but wasn't sure wheather the loss of power was due to the motorways been logged with water, we hit donny and my car all of a sudden missfires like hell and lost all power, engine management life started flashing then came on perminant, putting me in what I imagine was limp home mode, pulle into the services turned my car of and unplugged the battery, left it for 5/10 minutes then struck her back up, started perfect no missfiring, decided to bottle the trip and head home, took it steady home and it ran sweet as a nut, took it out today and gave it some to see how it went and it seems to be missfiring at around 4/5 thou rpm, I was thinking plugs and coil pack but anyone got any other ideas? Much appreciated

The engine could have sucked water in.

Do you have an after-market intake?
You would be surprised how strong TU engines are. I hydro-locked my engine completely on Wednesday and after giving it some love it is up and running again.
This was in water up to the bump strip. No doubt the gearbox is full of water as it was totally submerged so I will drop the oil out of that next week.

Bloody hell! Water pretty bad but I wouldn't say it was that deep, I haven't got an aftermarket intake, I'm going to have a look at my filter and change my spark plugs tonight, any ideas how to check the coil pack to see if it's faulty?
