hi
off to have a go at fitting a clutch in my 2002 gti, i have have the clutch and oil but have been told i will need to replace a driveshaft seal?
now, is this true (i have no idea atm), and if so can anyone tell me what the part number is /or is there a specific seal to purchase over oem (upgrade).
i have many years building motorcycles, so am not a total noob at things, and just need some clarity atm
thanks all

there is a drive shaft oil seals i did change mine when i done my clutch and the input shaft seal iirc think they came in around 30 for all 3 from dealers. tbh the drive shaft ones were fine but as i had them i did change them but the input shaft one was very worn.

does depend on what model car yours is as to the input shaft seal tho think its only on the 1.6 engine and upwards

The most common Driveshaft seal part numbers are 312144 and 312146 (off side and near side) and the input seal (Top hat seal) is most commonly 210535 as a guide if you go into a dealership to ask for part numbers.
