Hi guys,

When I turn my engine on it flags a error of "Unblock Diesel Filter" I've just put some RedEx in my car thinking it might help will it?

If this wont fix it what would happen in the long term?

How much to get it fixed?

Cheers all,

J

Dam. I've got a 6 month warrenty worth up to 500 per visit. From the dealer I brought my car from. Should I give them a call tomorrow and tell them about this fault and see what they say? Or would they not cover this?

As said above. Take it straight back. Don't mess with it yourself or you will void any warranty.

This has popped up a few times on my car in the past.

A Motorway trip of about 30 miles at a steady 70mph has always helped to unblock mine. It surprises me how the sellers fail to mention how these vehicles aren't suitable for short trips for long periods.

The FAP system in mine will be straight off when the particulate filter needs replaced; that is gutting it and writing it off of the ECU. They're expensive to replace otherwise! Even more than the clutch/DMF assembly!

There are several items that can cause faults on the FAP system. If it is just the filter that is blocked, a good clean with the pressure washer CAN sort it

FAP filter will more than likely be classed as a wear and tear item, like other filters and serviceable items....so probably won't be covered under warranty.

Hello.
I will put my problem in to this topic becouse it is the same.
Three days ago warning "unblock diesel filter" appeared. I went to peugeot dealler and he connect my car to computer. FAP filter is 18% full, everything is normal... He couldnt run regeneration becouse, computer didnt let him do that (and i saw sighn on his computer which said "maximum regenerations are achived"???). I never run any regenerations by my self or anyone else. He said that filter is probably not full enough to run it. He reseted warning but on start up it appaered again.
I bought new car. I have peugeot 206 sw 1,6 hdi fap (y 2005) with 98.000 km.
What to do?
Thank you for your answer(s)

Take it out a long drive at a steady 50-60mph and it should regenerate itself. Forced regenerations are used when a fully is badly blocked.

Thank you for reply.
What is long drive? 30miles, 50miles,...? Is it matter in which gear i drive at 50-60mph? 4th or 5th?
Thank you.
