my 206 has just started making a very loud bannging noise then turning which seens so come from the front left. its like 2 bangs one after the other it doesnt sound good at all. could this be drive shafts, also if you press the back of the car down it hisses on its way back up is this normal????????

Driveshafts, top mount bearings or wishbones. As for the second question, that doesn't sound normal. Check the struts are lubricated properly?

have lifted the front end up. there's a definate rattle on the passanger side but i dont no if its coming from the box. i was drive down a dualcarraige way the other day and the was a big bag and i thought i have drive over something and it went into the wheel liner. but now i think this could have been the c.v joint giving up cheers for your advise arran.

No problem, jack the car up and check for play. Does the car pull to one side if you give a boot full?

just had the AA out to have a look. he says the diff has gone and the box is most likey going to need replacing.

If the box is otherwise good, you can replace the planet/satelite gears of the differential.
