Getting my first car in a few weeks and cannot wait, going to turn it into a GTI look a like as I love the look but can't afford the car due to insurance being ridiculous. It's an 01 quicksilver.

Planning on putting in honeycomb grill, 17" vortex alloys, aftermarket pioneer stereo, colour coding the bumpers and spraying the callipers red. The only thing I don't know what to do is paint my vortex alloys ford graphite grey and then colour code it black and silver. Opinions please, also bare in mind I am 17 and only have a part time job haha.

Love 206\'s.

Yeah was also planning on doing that, would it be better to DIY it or get it done professionally? (if it's not too expensive)

Obviously its better to get it done by a Pro, but DIY works too.

There are a few people on here offering spraying services.

Have you checked you can actually change the alloys?

A lot of insurance companies dont allow mods for young drivers OR they will bump the premium a lot due to the higher risk.

Your high risk enough being 17 & then buying a 206, about the worst car / young driver combination to have for insurance Laughing

As for turning in to a GTI lookalike, better check with the insurance company first as you maybe in for a shock Whistle...

If the wheels are made by Peugeot there not considered a mod, as for insurance I'm just going to be a named driver on my mums insurance so it's a lot cheaper. As for the rest of the mods apart from the change of grill it's just colour so that shouldn't affect the insurance? Right.. Haha

100% Incorrect.

Your insurance company & anybody else can find out the EXACT spec your 206 rolled of the production line easily enough in a couple of minutes Wink

Peugeot Service Box + your cars VIN number = your screwed for not declaring the wheels as a modification Rolling On The Floor Laughing

As for being a named driver on your mums policy, unless shes the real main user of the car then your also be screwed for fronting.

As soon as the insurance company see 206 + modifications & a young named driver there going to start asking questions as they will work out you are really the main driver of the car.
