Not sure if the CC exhaust is the same as the hatchback versions, but our's snapped at the weekend at the join between the rear silencer and the centre pipe section ... to be honest, the exhaust wasn't in a good state, so we were expecting to replace it soon.

But looking at it quickly at the weekend, the front join of the centre pipe seems to attach to what looks like a catalytic converter ... but it isn't a join in the sense that there is no clamp! It looks like it could be one piece ...

Anyone else noticed this or can advise on what we need to buy?

Or better still, anyone got an exhaust system they want to part with? (Close to High Wycombe/Maidenhead preferably)

Yes, and it looks like it's the system from the manifold back to the tip! Including a new cat!!! Ouch!

Peugeot bought out a metal middle piece to join onto the cat, as it is one piece and will need cutting. Go to longlife or somewhere similar they will sort you out.

Thanks for that Steve .... I'll look into that. Won't be longlife though .. nothing within 30 miles of me.

I'm not sure the cat is that good actually ... we get a lot of cat related error codes.

The car hasn't been well looked after in the past, so it might just pay us to go for the whole caboodle ...

To answer the first question, the CC exhuast is slightly different to that of the GTi. It's shaped differently to clear the bars under the floor.

Thanks ... although most websites aren't showing that ... same parts for both types! Maybe they just sell CC exhausts which just hang lower for the hatch!

Got one from online-automotive in the end ... seems to be OK ...

Front clamp was a pain to get on (it had two bolts on new one, one on original). Ended up with one arm on either side of subframe .. not easy when you're lying on you back with a pair of axle stands holding car up. And then just lining it all up ... took a couple of goes to get silencer right.

Lambdas came out without too much persuasion (I've got the correct socket). One wouldn't go back though .. the thread bush was welded on slightly overlapping the pipe .. small file did the trick. (No calls from my daughter yet saying "the light's back on" (EML due to P0420 error)

New tail box is slightly different to old one ... but seems to fit better ...

When for standard rubber hangers this time,. May swap out centre one for a Powerflex there at some stage, but rears will be a really tight fit if fitting soft rubber ones are anything to go by!

And it's quiet now!!! Smile
