need a new alternator pronto, does anyone know if they are interchangeable between specs?

I have a 2.0 hdi but cant find a used one locally. but there is one off a 1.6 petrol local.

any insight would be appreciated.

Think you need the 150a. Only found on GTi otherwise IIRc.

(could be completely wrong.)

a 1.4HDi is also 150a, it's the wiring plug which changes between years, if i recall.

i have one in my shed that needs gone, but it could do with a new pulley.
