No, in reality for what I used the car for the power was fine, its the handling and braking I liked more

Ah okay, thats not a bad result then to be honest, Iv got to admit my standard gti ( k and n panel filter) feels quicker than I thought it would, saying that I did jump straight from a 1.2 corsa c :'-) haha

Yeah they tend to feel quick when you come from a 1.2 lol
Mine felt quick coming from an IS200.

bhp figures are for children and dreamers its how the car drives on the road that makes the difference between a quick car and a slow one anyway.
anyone who is bickering about there car being way quicker because of a few bhp isnt worth wasting effort responding to in my opinion. all the well known hot hatches i.e. 206 180,clio 172,fiesta st etc get sniped at for not having the book figure, tbh it is the best figure the manufacturer gets in test conditions to boast and sell the car in the real world there are so many variables to how much bhp a car puts out its pointless iv known cars run as much as 10-15 bhp just on different rolling roads let alone air temperature, mods, condtion of engine, servicing standards etc
iv never had my 180 rolling roaded and have no intrest in doing so it puts a big cheesy grin on my face when im out blasting around the windy roads where i live so weather it has 160,170,180, 2000000 bhp doesnt bother me what so ever if you enjoy driving your car thats all that matters!!

The only reason I got mine RR'd is because it was cheap and it was an RR meet, under normal circumstances I wouldnt have done it, but lets not forget RR's are good for seeing if you have a healthy engine or not its not always for bragging rights.

You are right, but still power output figures as rich said can be used to show if an engine is running correctly (healthy engine). On a road car it really doesn't matter about a few bhp as you said.

no i'm not good enough to feel any diffrence mate
as said its not all about bhp its how the car feels, i had the red 180 and gave that to my daughter and got myself another scoob (55 plate prodrive). got bored of that in 5 mths and looked for another 180 found a newer and less milage one than the red one,but for some reson i just missed the red one so have given the newer one to daughter and got the red one back 
no being a snob or show off but i have had 5 scoobs a evo 8 and 6,toyota st205 gt4,nissan pulsur and lots of other "fast" performance cars but for some reson the 180 is just more fun and more useable.

think I'm going to get a janspeed because my standard one is quite rusty in a couple of areas, anyway I can see what you mean about the 180 being fun and usable, to be honest I think for their money you can't beet them, and after owning all those cars over the years would you say that power isn't everything ?? iv just drove home from my girlfriends two villages away and gave it some throttle round the bends near my house and I tell you what, I don't care what power my mates cars have I know that when I turn into a bend round my area I can control what power i put down and not one of them corners can you use all the power of any sports cars with more than say 150bhp so that's why I love the 180, it's manageable and quick oh and stylish

well we are all diffrent but for me the 180 is about spot on for power,handling anymore more power and to me you need 4wd to make full use of it.But with more power comes bigger runing costs, ok i'm lucky if i really wanted too i can afford to run them but take my last scoob for example the front brakes are crap so as per normal i looked at a upgrade to a decent set of calipers and pads 1300 quid later they worked lol lol but for the 180 well under half the cost. Again the ins is less than half now the scoob was runing 261 bhp so pretty much standerd and tbh there really is'not much in terms of performance between the two yes the scoob had the edge but not by as much as you would think.
for a day to day fast (ish) fun run around it is hard to beat the 180's they are so cheap to buy and run, i mean i picked up the silver one on a 05 with 41k on it for 1500 quid ( ok did need exh and cambelt) but apart from a clio there is not alot of cheaper fun cars for that sort of cash about.
Yes loads of power is fun my first scoob was runing 453 at the wheels but downside was 14+k to get it there and to be reliable, 10-12 mpg on road and 4 mpg on track ins well over 1k with all mods declared
service every 4k.
I never thought i would leave the jap turbo cars but after getting the first 180 i just found that i could have as much fun with alot cheaper runing costs.
None of the jap stuff was old nasty knacked crap they were all nice clean cars pics of the last scoob in the "meet pics" section on here (chichester meet).
