8v also can also 96bhp as standard
and has been prove to death they are good and very tunable engine.
while ET3 engine is just a transition product

WHats ET3 Engines??? Are these the the 16v and 1.4HDI's etc.
Whats a 1.1L would that be 8valve

ET3 is the 1.4 16V, DV4 is the 1.4 HDi.
yes 1.1 will be the 8v

You don't have to stay with the same insurance company mate do some searching on price check sites, 8v has 1 pulley at the top and 16v has 2 pulleys at the top.

Hi
Yep i am aware about the insurance change but my current insurance i pay each month and not up in full so i am in talks with them about not being charged to move as they did not explain to me about the 27 years age limit when i took the policy out and also it does not state anyware on my policy about that age limit.
I dont think a 2.0L will be an option as alot of insurance compaines require any driver who is going on the policy to have held the licence for more than a year if going on a 2.0L

the 2.0 hdi is cheap as chips to insure and run. mines never put a foot wrong apart from the usual, i.e wishbones and cv joints. Good old french design. the 2.0 hdi is spot on as far as im concerned.

Hi all,
Well the next 2 weeks will be intresting looking for a new 206. Been keeping an eye on Auto Trader just to get an idea.
What is the cambelt change interval on a 1.2, 1.4 and 2.0HDI
Still looking between the 3 types of engine sizes and can people recommend any insurance compaines that insure a new driver which has passed within the last week and is under 27

There isnt a 1.2 engine.
1.1 & 1.4 are the 2 smallest petrol engines for UK spec 206's, avoid the problematic 1.4 petrol 16 valve lump.
1.4 hdi is best avoided as well.
1.4 petrol 8 valve OR 2.0 hdi are the best choices for a cheap run around.
Petrol engine timing belt is every 5 years / 80k miles whichever comes first.
No idea on diesel timing belt change, someone else will know on here.

It looks like a cheap run around but 'sensibly priced' is a bit off, I think they mean completely overpriced
Wouldn't pay over a grand for it for sure
