New panel, cut and weld. Then paint. About £120 all id say.

That dent can be fixe by any dent Dr. I had a crease knocked out at FCS and they did it perfectly! Can't tell now Smile

Not quite, in that particular location it is double skinned and wont be knocked out that easily. As mentioned a slide hammer will be the best repair but a new quarter will be the ultimate option.

As for having the panel cut off, buying a replacement, having it welded on and then painted for £120 is laughable! Times that by 4 and add about £50 for a decent job.

I think that's more realistic. £20-£25 per hour (and that's cheap). I would be looking at at least 15 hours labour if they do the job properly plus materials and parts. There wouldn't be much change out of £100 to buy the panel for them to butcher.

It's cheaper to repair the panel than to replace it in whole or part. I think it's about 8 hours labour to paint and replace a front wing in a decent bodyshop.

Ok so my £150 seems a little low. But it still shouldn't cost £530!

Maybe £250 but no more than that.

Like I said, price isn't an issue, I'm on good terms with a mechanic who does most of the work very cheaply for me, and gets me parts at cost price Smile

I was standing at the service desk at halfords when a women came in quite worried saying she really needed a mechanic, sounded pretty serious.


When he asked what's wrong she said she had a scratch, made me laugh Laughing

When I say "mechanic" He owns a garage in Sheffield, it's just easier to drop it off with him, let him sort everything out e.g spray shop etc.. And I just pay him for the work, if any that he has to do.

Dropped the car off this morning, he had a quick look at the damage and said "it's a big job, have to remove the rear and side window to fix it"

I told him what you guys said about a slide hammer and he said it can be done without that. No idea how else you'd do it though.

Getting the vinyl removed aswell, since it's torn

ive done exactly the same on mine a few years ago, just hammer out what you can get it as close to the original as possible and take it to a bodyshop.
aslong as its not creased the floor then all is good, all they would need to do is tape of the discoloured bit of bumper and spray it all in one if they are any good
