If it is a multiplexed car and it is the Comms unit then I believe you are looking at around the £300+ mark.

Turning the steering on my car when idle increases the revs ever so slightly too, so this is normal behaviour I suspect.

It changes the mixture slightly to give more torque which is why the revs go slightly up.
It also lasts a few seconds after the steering has stopped moving.

Same with aircon.

Pressure switch on the power steering system tells the engine ecu to raise the idle speed slightly to compensate for the increased demand on the engine as you turn the steering wheel.

You need to tell us what year your 206 is first as there are 2 completely different types of stalk set up used on the 206.

Will be the com 2000 unit then.

Go get a new or service / exchange unit as it will come with a warranty, 2nd hand / used ones aint really worth a w**k.

Some motor factors do these com units now as a service / exchange part.

Steering wheel has to be removed to replace the com 2000 unit so if your thinking leather / GTI steering wheel upgrade in the future this is the time to do it.

If your REALLY REALLY brave you can take them apart & try to repair it BUT its not for the faint hearted & if you break it your car less until the com unit is replaced as the immobiliser runs through the com unit.
