As everybody knows, Poppy has been sold by tomd0801754, as he is moving to Moscow.
I am now the proud owner of her!!
So, after discussing the purchase of her on Wednesday with Tom, I had the deposit down on Thursday, sold my lil 1.1, and bobbed over to Tom's on Sunday to pick her up. When I turned up, what could I say, she looked lovey. Tom had just cleaned her up and wow! I was amazed. She had on my 307 challengers as me and Tom had come to a deal where by I had them on and he kept his Team Dynamics.
So I jumped in her, slammed in my 180 GTI Seat, just the drivers, no door cards! Just like a rally car ;)... This was because, again, me and Tom came to a deal where by he could sell his interior separate and I just put mine in!
So anyways, off I set off, down the East Lancs Road. Taking things nice and easy and I wasn't use to the car, the feels of it and the sounds. Just as I started to really get happy with the car.... I heard a massive clunk from the passenger side of the car. I didn't know what was happening, and my instinct was to slam on the brakes... which I did, luckily there were no cars next to me or behind me, I was just trying to stop the car from 50MPH with all my might, the car started to spin, and as I was, I could see the passenger side Challenger, happily spinning off down the side of the road. Great.
It appears that Peugeot had supplied us with the wrong bolts for the wheels... This is still being looked into and I will update all you guys when I know more to do with this.
So, finally, unharmed I managed to get myself out of the car. Now baring in mind I had been in ownership of the car for around 10 minutes, I was absolutely gutted!
The first thing I did was get out, away from the car, as it was in the middle of the east lancs! and call Tom, he came straight down!
The police pulled behind me and we spent around half an hour trying to find the wheel that had flew off so that we could roll the car off the road... It was no where to be seen! :(..
And to top things off, the Police wouldn't let us call breakdown as they "would take too long" and the service the police use would be "faster".
So up turn Egertons Recovery, who put the knackered disk brake on a skate, and take my car away... wow!
What a day that turned out to be.
The next day, I got the train down to meet Tom, and we drove up to the recovery company. On the way I was given the lovely news that to release my car from the police compound it would cost me £300, nice!
When we got there, the car did look in a sorry state, but oh boy, she still looked gorgeous. The guys pulled out the car using a fork lift! Mine and Toms hearts were in our mouths for sure, then they lowered it and we got to work. New disk brake on, and another wheel, just so we could get the car home!
So, I popped in the office, paid the extortionate fee and Tom drove Poppy home.
Once there, we swapped all four wheels and bolts. We did a deal where I got the Team Dynamics put on the car, as I had lost confidence sadly.. and I drove her home.
She seems not too poorly now, she is currently with Cartoonhead, who is stripping down the suspension and brakes and checking for damage, as we have a knocking coming from the suspension, but all will be well! She just needs a new wing!
I also want to add to this post, my thanks to Tom. He was there all the way through this. It was no fault of his and he had no obligation to help, but he has done way beyond his duty of call! He has been absolutely amazing.
I will keep you all updated with progress as I go on, but I will be at the summer meet with Poppy with me!
So, now some pictures... in the first one, the Grey line is where I was sliding, side ways!
Myself and Tom, im sure have both had many sleepless nights over this, and almost even shed a tear! She isn't just a lump of metal, this is whats so upsetting about this, but luckily, she will be okay!

 can't believe it! I was looking in to the car, if I had the money I would of bought it! Good job everyone was okay! Bit if a slide you had there, hope she gets well soon mate!

Believe me Paul, I was stood at the side of the road doing this, right next to the Police Guy! Haha! Think he understood my upset

What actually happened to the bolts do you know? Did they snap or just come loose?
Even with the incorrect bolts when torqued up they should last way longer than 10 minutes
Sad to hear, hope it gets sorted

Least she's nearly back to how she was Jack  And she is providing smiles otherwise. Although, we did a lot did we?
I've never felt so under presure in that lock-up. Quickest disc change i've ever done.

All four bolts came out. Can't find the bolts, but no damage to the hub thread, nor any snapped peices inside. Strange as surely if they had worked loose, then the final one would have sheered?

Odd indeed, I would have thought at least one or two sheered.
Having said that I was in the same situation, I must not have torqued them up and within a week they had worked loose. Got massive steering wheel vibration and when I managed to find a farm gate to ditch it into a farm gate you could just pull two of the bolts out, the other two only had a bit of thread left on them. Another 50m and it could have been the same as this with no bolts left.

Okay okay YOU did a lot ;), I watched and offered support. My boy Tom helped me a lot people ;).
We will be bum buddies for ever now im sure LOL!!
She will be looking back to normal in no time!

Wow what a story!
Glad you are OK and that the car is not too badly damaged.
£300 to release it from the police compound! So much and the car was not even involved in a crime or traffic offence

When I saw the pictures on Sunday night, I was gutted. When I told Mrs Macca she just said it's obvious that Poppy didn't want to leave Tom.
At least she's back on the road and no lasting damage was done to either you or Poppy. Hope you take as much care of her as Tom did, although it's not the first time Tom has scammed in a sale. The wiper arm springs to mind

I still have the photo's to prove I am completely innocent. Not my fault the idiot gave me incorrect bank details. He went suprisingly quiet when he gave me the correct bank account details.

Seriously I know how gutted Tom was on Sunday. Can you use one of the bolts from the other 3 wheels to see if you were supplied with the correct ones from Peugeot? Odd that all four came out. If they were loose I'd have expected them to fall out sooner and knowing the distance from Toms to where the wheel came off it's a good few miles. My neighbours cambelt snapped at the same place. Think I'll avoid that stretch of road in the future, they say it comes in 3s.

No I only ask for £350, as you are only entitled to £130,000.
I have the part code down at my Grandads. I shall cross-reference it later.
