Hi,
+- half a year ago I got the black diamond stage 2 clutch installed, but didn't replace the flywheel (I'm new and didn't now I had to..). It slipped slightly straight away in 4/5th in low rpm, but recently has been getting a lot worse.
Also slipping in 3rd now, from 1800-2400 rpm if full pedal down with remap.

Is it worth still replacing the flywheel, could this cause the slipping? The car is from 2000.
Otherwise I'd go for a sachs clutch kit, especially as I've just got all the parts ready for the intercooler setup..

thanks

just poor quality clutch.

i doubt black diamond know how to make clutch / brakes.....there is loads of S*** brands "performance" clutch around so.... Laughing

Even oem clutch will not slip for just a remap. And yes i am 100% sure. Intercooled -mapped might be too stressful for stock clutch though

2.0 HDi rarely fail on flywheel so no need to change it.

Shouldn't need new flywheel.
Did you use new pressure plate and clean all splines etc?
Did you get grease or oil contaminated while fitting?
Incorrect fitting of clutch operating mechanism?

I have never known a slipping clutch to cure itself. You should have striped it down again almost immediately. I know, after re-assembly it is sole destroying to strip it again but it was never going to improve on its own.

Thanks a lot,

Did go for a new pressure plate and garage that fitted it seemed ok before, mechanic said he thought kevlar might have to slip in. Didnt realise these were bad clutches Sad

Very surprised it's doing worse than original, but don't want to pay to inspect it only to find out clutch quality is problem

anyway will look for new clutch again. will this hold intercooler + some trackdays?

Fitted less than 12 months ago and slipping I would take it back to the garage.

Could always get the flywheel refaced, i just dropped mine off today at an
Engine rebuild place, and its costing £30

Because flywheel bolts let oil onto clutch plate so was slipping and flywheel
got hot, so im having it done to make sure the new clutch seats well

I read this when looking for a clutch www.uucmotorwerks.com/clutch/
