Just wondered if someone can help..
does anyone know for sure the running temp the 1.4 8v 206's should run at, at which the low speed fan kicks in and what temp the high speed fan kicks in.
The gfs car runs at a constant 93/94 ish pretty much all the time, motorway/town etc...
fitted a new thermostat today and nothing seems to have changed..
when ticking over it seems to stay around 94/95 and the fans kick in now and again as id expect.
i was worried it may be the head as the top hose seems a little pressurised but sniff test didnt show anything
any help appreciated

My fan kicks in just over 90 so seems pretty normal.
Haynes list the thermostat should open at 89. The thermostat opening has nothing to do with the fan kicking in.

well after a ride home it seems to sit inbetween 90-100 degrees most of the time.. i would assume though that on 70mph on the motorway the temp should drop?
drive with the heaters on for 5 mins and the temp drops as it should then goes back up when on cold.. the a/c doesnt seem to affect anything temp wise...
i dont no if its normal or not or if im just worrying alot

This has always been a tricky one.
My 2001 (TU3) setup runs at 80-90 C with the low speed kicking-in at 90.
Mrs. 2007 (TU3) runs at 90-100 C with the low speed kicking-in at 95.
The latter seemed very high to me though everything works properly and
a pug technician reconed it's to do with the ECU software being different.

A 2001 TU3 will be a mechanical throttle
A 2007 TU3 will be a fly by wire throttle
I guess it will mean different ecu's which means different software packages even though its basically the same engine.
My 2003 TU3 runs at 90 deg C for coolant & oil temp after a few minutes running, no idea when the cooling fan is meant to cut in as my climate control is running all the time.

Mine runs at 80 normally, but whn im in town it creeps above 90 before dropping back to 80 when the fan comes on.
I can tell when the car is running above 90 because the bonnet starts to steam when its raining,. so all the time at the moment!

Thats running to cold, check the thermostat & coolant temp sensor & replace whichever one is faulty.
Thermostat opens at 89 deg C.

your gfs car seems to run perfectly,as the temp should hit 90 sharp after you drive it for a while,so when it reach the 90 and you drive in town it will go over 90 which mean (94-97),the fan will kick in at low speed at this point,and make it back to 90,it should not be less than 90,like 80 or so,if so you got a problem with the theromstat,the high speed fan kicks in only if the coolant temp is about 100 or so,OR when the low speed is working and you turn the A/C on.
