Done this twice now in the past week. Comes up with engine immobiliser fault, it cranks over but won't start. The first time I left it for 10mins and it started fine. Did it again on my driveway tonight, took the key out and tried it again and all is well. Any ideas what could be causing this?

Reboot the BSI unit, if it keeps doing it then Peugeot main dealer & BSI software update.

It did the same on the spare key last week in Germany. What do you mean by aerial test?

When it wont start open the drivers door & see if the key in ignition beep sounds

Borrow a mux aerial, or buy one, to rule out that it's not picking up the signal.
Located around the ignition barrel

Mux aerial? Is a bsi soft boot a good starting point?

Your car is multiplexed so it needs the multiplexed version of the 206 transponder aerial

It looks like a big black plastic Polo mint with a cable coming out of it.
