Howdo guys and gals,

i have a question..... I have a knocking noise from the passenger side, it is more noticable over very small imperfections in the road whether under load or not??

since owning the car i have replaced the top suspension bushes and drop links, the track rod ends are farely new from previous owner soooo the only thing that hasn't been replaced are the wishbones???

I have also replaced all the engine mounts the only thing to replace is the lower rear gearbox mount that i hope to have done next friday when the cambelt gets done.

any opinions or thoughts of what it could be before i go and replace loads of parts that i dont need to like i have done previously Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

cheers

dave

A slight knocking over small road imperfections is very much a drop link symptom so although you've replaced the drop links, check the drop links nuts are on tight enough. No need to go mad but because they are self locking nuts sometimes people don't do them up tight enough so they are secure and the ball joint bolt is quite a sloppy fit in there so you end up with the same irritating sound as if you have worn drop links again. Could be a nice quick and cheap fix Very Happy

Worn track rod ends you can usually feel through the steering and experience steering wandering and tyre edge wear

Do you get knocking from steering? If so you have a faulty top mount!

I have this on mine, It's either the wheel bearings or the anti roll bar. In my case it's both! I even need my drop links replacing as they've started to rattle now and my strutt top mounts need replacing

A loose brake caliper on the left side!!!

Nut fell out this evening soo dont know the extent of the damage if any get till
I get it off tomorrow may need to re tap the hole bigger and put a larger bolt in! I hope there is no lasting damage tho!!!

Anyone ever had a similar issue??? Or this ever happen to you before???

Seen it a few times on alsorts of cars almost always down to bolts not being cleaned loctited and torqued up properly.
Aslong as its not worn the bolt caliper or the hub assembly youl be ok. Any wear ovaling of holes etc just replace taping holes using bigger bolts etc is potentially more trouble than it worth.
Also check the condition of the disc and pads
