My clutch pedal makes a creaking noise as if something needs lubricating, should I wd40 it or something?

Silicon spray grease. Most hinge points are plastic and any petroleum product (WD40 GT85 etc) will slowly destroy it. They will give a short term fix but won't last like spray silicon grease.

Something like this:-

Or your local Maplins. Can be found in your local spares shop but few stock it. Do not confuse this with silicone dash spray.

That sounds more like the automatic adjusting mechanism. Try pressing the clutch pedal to the floor then slip your foot off the pedal sideways so that the pedal flies back towards you. That can be enough to make the adjuster set itself.

NOTE: sometimes after this the pedal feels like it is stuck at the very top of it's stroke, just apply a little extra pressure and normal movement comes back.

To lubricate the pivot point you need to stand on your head (well almost) to see where the pedal hinges and spray there.

WD40 is petroleum based and rots rubber. Silicone grease doesn't. Buy a spray can and keep it juts like you would WD40.

+1000

Half my posts seen on the left have been about this.

Also, vaseline swells and softens rubber (which you might actually want in some cases), whereas silicon replenishes and preserves.

This is getting into dodgy teritory now though.
