Hey guys

The other half is desperate to own a 206 and she's found a 2.0hdi D-Turbo. 52 plate. went to have a look as it is fairly local. And as soon as she saw it she fell in love with it.

HOWEVER

We haven't bought it yet as it has a fault, basically it doesn't run. The guy seems a genuine person. he has had the ECU sent away and 'apparently' that's fine (it does look like its been unbolted and refitted). They discovered a few broken wires and have temporary fixed them. There's a couple repairs to wires under the air box and there's a wire going from the engine fuse box to the ECU. All the wires that he seen has broken or were worn have been joined but it still wont go.

Story was that it was driven fine Friday evening, parked up over the weekend and then Monday morning it failed to start and has been parked up for about a month while they've waited for the ECU to be checked over.

By removing the ECU has that been reset or something and may need recoding to the car? could possibly be the key giving trouble?

Any thoughts or suggestions welcome. The chap is selling it cheap because he has gone and bought a golf and needs it out of his garage.

Cheers

What is it doing or not? Does it try to turn on the key but fails, does it splutter? Does it do anything at all on the key? Do the electrics work?

As far as I know, electrics work fine, central locking, windows, wipers etc. New battery, so Swings over well but doesn't fire. My sort of guess is what tomd said being the immobiliser isnt opening the pump solenoid and therefore not injecting derv.

With it being on a 52 plate it will be Multiplexed, best bet is to get it on a Peugeot Planet and get the ECU checked, and possibly reprogram the Immobiliser to the key

Ok, well i'll get peugeot planet on it as I have access to it. She's gone and bought it now. As the bloke took a offer of £200...it fairly tidy. The old man and me are gunna get it back tomorrow so will get pictures up, worth a chance I reckon. Never had the ECU off a 2.0 HDI so is there electronics underneath Lee?

UPDATE: Plugged into PP and got no response from anything apart from the Airbag ECU. had a fiddle around and reseated a few plugs and checked all the fuses, and managed to get everything to respond to PP apart from the ECU. says ECU unlocked on PP and car still cranks over. Just need to reference (with help of the diagrams from Lee (thanks again)) the wires from the ECU and work out which wires are giving power (or supposed to be giving power) and check those... any thoughts or suggestions are GREATLY appriciated. Btw there's no relays under the ECU or the ECU mounting plate.
