Hi all,

Urgent problem with peugeot 206 1.4 glx 1999.

I was driving along and thw car was fine. Put my foot down around 10 mph to accelerate and there was no power, pulled off to the side of the road to restart the car and it had trouble establishing an idle, almost to the point of stalling but it didn't.

When driving it is very hard to get the car going and there is no power in any gear, only starts to properly move when ove 2k revs,

It is also making a weird noise now and the exhaust is shaking a lot.

Any idea as to what this could be and how to fix it?

Thanks

What would I look for if ghe coil pack has gone?

Where abouts is it in the engine?

How much for a replacement?

The Coil pack is directly behind the engine, infront of the throttle body. I has a grey plug connected to it. Not too sure about price for a brand new one. If it has gone power dramatically decreases as this happend to one of my mates 206 as he couldn't get past 20mph

It sounds like the coil pack then, I'm suffering a complete lack of power but it will keep going at 30 once It reaches it.

I've never had a problem like this before Sad

Also what spark plugs are in the car? as 206's don't like NGK plugs, they cause all sorts of problems

Not all of them do, some have a black connector plug & there NOT interchangeable Wink

Throwing replacement parts at a car without doing proper diagnostic tests to pin point the fault is also a waste of time & money.

I've replaced one before on a 206 with the 1.4 lump that had a black connector plug.

I've just had a look at my engine bay and if its the right part im looking at it had a black plug on top of it.

I've no idea what spark plugs are in it as i only bought the damm thing 3 weeks ago...

Got a garage looking at it on monday and hopefully it will be covered under warranty.

Thanks
