Collected my GTi on Monday and today was the first chance I got to have a look around. Have detailed a few things I found.......

Rear O/S suspension seized. New this when I bought it. Looks as if bearings are knackered as I can see where grease has spewed out around arm and along main beam. Hoping to get away with new bearings and cleaning up the stub axle.

3 other issues I found. (I'm not too hands on mechanically so bear with me.

On the N/S front the rubber boot at the wheel end of the drive shaft has obviously split as there is grease splattered everywhere and all round the wheel rim. Is this a CV joint???
How difficult to change this boot?
Will there be any other damage done as the grease has come out?

Noticed a very slight drip or two of oil on the floor right under the front spoiler. It's coming off a pipe that runs under the radiator which I think comes from the PAS reservoir. Cleaned it up but couldn't see an obvious leak. Think it may have rubbed against a sharp edge of a bulkhead that runs parallel to the pipe. Looks a s*ite to replace? Dipstick on PAS is down to the 'ADD' mark so this would tally with the leak.

Noticed when the engine was cold that the coolant level is nearly coming out of the top of reservoir so well above the max mark. Would this level drop when the engine is running? Would have to bleed some out to reduce level I'm guessing.

On a plus point I checked the air filter and found a clean K&N panel filter Laughing

Sorry to run on

The PAS leak sounds the same as what happened on my old 206. The pipe was rubbing on something (probably the bulkhead) and the car dumped all the fluid out in one go. From what I can remember it wasn't that much to fix.
