Help!!!

My Peugeot 206 LX X-Reg 1.4 will not start, it turns over but will not fire.

I have changed the ignition coil twice, I believe the fuel pump is fine, all fuses are working and have reprogrammed the keys.

I am not the most technical person going but I have had help and they feel it can only be the immobiliser or the computer that have packed up.

Any ideas people?

Thanks in advance

Glenn

Glenn, first of all make sure you have spark at the plugs and fuel when you crank the engine, if this is in order then it could be a sensor. There is a crank sensor located on the gearbox, which is visible from the engine, but you can access it from under the car. If this sensor is bad the car would not start or it could be many other reasons as to why the car would not start. Confused

I am having a similar problem with my car. THe mechnaic said it may be the immobiliser. Have you touched any of the wiring in the car??

Agree with navcc. Crank sensor could be duff. Symptoms are not starting with no spark or fuel pump operation.

Edited to add after 're reading navcc post we might not agree completely. When my crank sensor failed on my previous car I didn't have any spark and the fuel pump wouldn't run on cranking.

I don't know if the 206 is different but I can't see any reason for it being so.

Has anyone actually thought about maybe getting a code scanner/parameter measurer on there?

Any good one will be able to tell you whether the ECU is unlocking? As currently your p**sing in the wind, with out looking at parameters or codes
