BSI unit, is this why my rear auto wipe function and reverse lights no longer work?

Possibly but not likely. Could be the comms unit, maybe fuses? More information would be helpful.

Probably the switch on the gearbox.

What He Said

No reverse lights = no auto rear wiper.

If BSI cant see the switch input to turn the reverse lights on the auto rear wiper wont function Wink

Unplug the switch, short the 2 terminals together on the connector plug, turn the ignition ON & if the reverse lights now work buy a new switch.

Its strange, there is power going to the lights but they won't illuminate. Tried bulbs, fuses, shorting it out etc but still no joy. Only stopped working after engine was swapped. Also new switch fitted too. Still no joy. Sad

You have a high resistance wiring fault then & seeing as the engine has been swopped you need to check the wiring.

Until the reverse lights are fixed ( the BSI unit sees the reverse light switch ) the auto rear wiper isnt going to work.

I see.:( I've traced the wiring all the way from the switch, in to the fuse box, out of the fuse box, along under the carpet in the car, all the way to the lights with no kinks or breaks or even bare wire?

Its a HIGH RESISTANCE fault Wink

Dodgy / dirty connection or something not tightened up correct.

Shut the BSI unit down correctly & unplug it BEFORE you use a test meter on the wiring.
