hi all
well i had a knocking - found the wheel bearing with lots of play (o/s front) and replaced it. knocking gone.
however
Not even 24 hours later and about 20 miles driven , there is play once again in the wheel-same as last time . i have not driven it since checking, but can almost be assured the knocking will return. A bad bearing? worn hub?Maybe the driveshaft is worn?
i,m in need of some advice please.
The bearing i got from unipart. Number UGCGHK1377
I stripped the hub off and took it to a local garage to press out/in .
Thnx in advance for any help

Its a new wishbone. All nuts fully tightened.
Can hubs just wear suddenly??
I guess it didnt help that i had to go to work for 4 nights with knowing the bearing was bad. Would this cause the hub to warp?

Hub should be fine possible the new bearing has failed not unheard of for cheap bearings or incorrectly installed damaging the races.

new pinch bolt.
ok, if i grab top and bottom of the disc it has movement, about 2-3 mm.If i remove the disc it still has the same movement. It has had a new bearing fitted, so i'm guessing its either badly put in or some sort of wear on the middle splines?
It also had a new cv joint put in about a month ago.
Think i.ll have to strip it (again) and take a film of the problem and post it.

well, bit late in replying.
It turns out that the 1st mechanic used a hammer and small socket to fit this bearing - hence the wear.
The second bearing was done by another mechanic and no problem at all.
However
Its been about 6 weeks since this second bearing was done , and yet again i have movement in the bearing
so now i am puzzled as to why it has gone already?
I have checked everything , and all seems to be ok, so why this is worn is annoying , and beggining to chew the cash up :/
so please if anyone has some advice in what to check or maybe have an idea why this is wearing so quick i would appreciate it
