Rite i have had a clunk, knock coming from the front n/s wheel. there's no movement in the ball joint or steering. Am i rite to say it could be the strut top bush? When the cars jacked up there is abit of movement in the spring. I dont want to start buying parts to find its not them that need replacing. Need to get the car spot on ready to sell.

could be topmount bearings, does it make the noise when turning while not moving/driving car?

somtimes the spring will jump round while turning if someone can have a look while you turn left to right etc.

failing that could be drive shaft.

It makes the noise when driving and going over bumps, can feel it through the steering. I do think it could be the driveshaft as its got a judder when i take off sometimes.

Get someone to turn the steering whilst it is stationary the spring should not turn on the spot. If it does it's the top mounts

Check your top mount bolts are tight! Had this on mine. Changed bottom arms and it turned out to be loose bolts!!! Doh.

Ive checked for play and there's none. Im now thinking the driveshaft could be the issue. Im thinking of getting some lowering springs so will be removing the shocks so can have a good check over the top mounts.
