Probably another silly question but we all gradually learn.

I know the 180 is a pig to mod and don't really plan on modding it due to insurance costs and the little gains/poor value for money, but am in the middle of learning all about modding which will come in useful for later on in life.

Would I notice any even remotely slight power/quicker acceleration gains by using a 100 cell race cat in a GTI 180?

Demontweeks do one for just short of £160. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Cus...2c670a9ea3

lol. I have a lot to learn. I have read de-cat is illegal and that's why people use sports and race cats to get around it. I think it's a lot of money for something which will probably give tiny gains anyway.

Got to admit I am intrigued with the whole modding thing as they make nice little projects for people, but I don't think I'll be going down that road yet, certainly not with the 206 anyway.

Not worth it the gains are minimal put your money towards better suspension.

What Andy said.

Unless you are going to make a race engine, fitting a 'sports' cat is going to help you in two ways: 1: Fail your M.O.T. 2: E.M.L on.... sorry did I say help, I meant annoy you with a constant light and a nice m.o.t fail.

Seriously, don't bother. If you want to improve the exhuast, get a decent cat back system, resonance tune it, have the head ported to the exhaust manifold and heat wrap the entire system (apart from the cat) to ensure the exhaust velocity is constant.
